Data use

Personal data collected from applicants is treated in strict confidence by the Human Resources team and, with the exception of data collected for equality monitoring, is provided solely to the panel conducting the initial sift or interview.

Data collected for equality monitoring is used solely to assess the effectiveness of the Colleges Equal Opportunity policies and procedures. This data is kept separately from the rest of your application and is not seen by staff involved in short-listing or selection decisions.

All information provided may be used anonymously for statistical purposes and will be held on the Human Resources database in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Should you be successful in your application then you should be aware that personal data may be used in subsequent internal management information and in the annual Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) returns. The terms of use of personal data collected by Higher Education institutions for the annual HESA return are available on the HESA website.
