A: Birkbeck currently operates different terms and conditions for its staff groups, i.e. Academic, Research, Academic and Other Related, Craft, Technical, Clerical and Manual. As part of the development and implementation of a new pay and grading structure, the College is reviewing and harmonising terms and conditions of employment.

Q: What work has been done with regard to Pay Progression/ Promotion?
A: The National Framework Agreement (NFA) calls for the development of a fair, equitable and transparent pay progression/ promotion process for all staff. The College is continuing to work closely with the Trade Unions to facilitate the establishment of a progression/ promotion process.
