Data Projectors in ITS PC Workstation rooms

All of the ITS Workstation rooms have a data projector connected to the lecturer PC at the front of the room. To use the projector, first check that the PC is switched on, and that the display is visible on the PC monitor.

All of the rooms have a control panel similar to one of the illustrations below:

To switch the projector off, press the "off" or "power on-off" button. The button flashes until the projector lamp has cooled sufficiently. During this period the projector cannot be switched back on.

A number of the rooms have electric projection screens, where a switch, similar to a light switch or illustrated below, might be used to raise or lower the screen. Rooms with electric screens are MB536, MB321, MB458.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter problems, please check the following:

  1. Stand underneath the projector enclosure.
  2. Check that the power light is red.
  3. If there are no lights at all, please report the fault to ITS Help Desk
  4. When powered on, the power light changes to green, and the adjacent status light should start flashing green, and the projector should come on.
  5. The projector cannot be powered off while the status light is flashing.
  6. If the status light is yellow, the projector has developed a fault, and this should be reported to ITS Help Desk.

In case of problems, please contact the ITS Help Desk on x6543.

Related Support

ITS staff will provide familiarisation to new users of the equipment (which is very easy to use).
