Services available in Teaching Rooms
Network access
Active network points are available in many centrally allocated teaching rooms, and more are added as requested via Estates' Room Bookings Office. In the Main Building, access to the wired network requires ITS username and password, and the method of access is very similar to using the wireless service, which also covers most of the building and all of the teaching areas . Visitors may request a temporary username and password via Room Bookings.
ITS have a number of laptops available for short term loan to staff, and any equipment being used should be configured to automatically pick up network configuration information via DHCP.
List of live network points for buildings which do not use the access control system is available (username and password required).

Documentation on using the PCs
The Apreso lecture capturing system
The Apreso system is available in room 101 Clore Management Centre. This allows a scheduled lecture to be captured, including any content displayed through the data projector, and made available via a streaming server on the Web. Please contact the Systems Team for a demonstration.
Support of the equipment
The AV equipment in the lecterns is supported by the AV unit. ITS will assist with use of the PCs, but cannot always respond to requests made at short notice and staff are expected to familiarise themselves with the equipment, and to ensure their applications/presentations work in advance of the class.
