Staff Email at Birkbeck
An Exchange mail server is available and recommended for staff, providing full access to the collaborative features available within Microsoft Outlook, including shared folders, calendar, task lists and web based access. Staff should normally liaise with their local desktop support staff concerning configuration.
ITS is passed details of new permanent staff as they join the College, and an electronic mail address is allocated within the Personnel system. The address is normally initial.surname@bbk.ac.uk. Other categories of staff may have aliases in a different format, and local support staff will be able to advise if this is the case.
Mailboxes are closed once the member of staff has left the College, and staff should familiarise themselves with Birkbeck's Email and Internet Policy.
Staff who prefer to use unsupported email clients relying on POP and IMAP may also use the student Webmail service.
