Rules for use of the technology booth (room 411)

1.  Room 411 is for the use of students who need to use the assistive technology PCs having declared a disability to the College. Use for any other purpose is not allowed.

2.  Only one student may use the room at a time, unless they are accompanied by an assistant who is supporting them in their work.

3.  Students should book the room in order to use it. Students may book this room for one 2 hour session per day between the hours 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.*

4.  The room may be booked in advance by e-mailing, phoning or calling in at the ITS helpdesk

5.  If the room is free when a student arrives they may book it immediately by ringing 6543 from the phone in the room, or by visiting the ITS helpdesk (booking is only possible when the ITS helpdesk is open).

6.  If you have used your 2 hour session and someone else arrives wanting to use the room you must leave immediately.

7.  Bookings must be cancelled if you find you are unable to attend; if you fail to do so you may not be allowed to book the room in future.

8.  Eating and drinking is prohibited in the room (as in all ITS workstation rooms).

9.  Mobile phones may not be used whilst in the room (as in all ITS workstation rooms).

10. You should communicate any enquiries or requests to other users of the room with consideration and respect, and treat others as you would expect to be treated.

If there are conflicts over the use of the room students should ask the ITS Helpdesk (or if it is closed then the attendants) to resolve the problem. If we consider a student has not been abiding by the rules their usage of the room will be temporarily revoked. If the problems continue ITS will remove the privilege of using room 411 for an extended period.

*Our analysis of the login patterns for use of the room indicate that this meets the needs of the vast majority of students, and will assist in reducing the number of conflicts.
