IT and Library Services
- Problems with student email or other log in issues can be addressed by IT Services; details on photocopying, borrowing and renewing library material, accessing other libraries and so on can be found at the Birkbeck Library.
Staff-student exchanges
- The Department runs regular staff-student exchanges. These allow students to meet up with the student support officer, and other members of staff, to discuss any problems or issues that they may have with the department.
Centre for Learning and Professional Development

Mitigating circumstances
- If you miss an essay deadline you are entitled to submit a claim of mitigating circumstances. Mitigating circumstances are understood as unforeseen, unpreventable circumstances that significantly disrupt student performance.
