Event description

Saturday 26th August 2017 will mark the finale of the SoundTracks project; a Leverhulme Trust funded research project with contributions from the departments of Archaeology and Music at the University of York, and in partnership with the British Library and Creswell Heritage Trust.

We would like to invite you to join us at Creswell Crags for a performance of Refugium. This site-specific landscape composition reflects critically on the the long-term history of the Creswell Gorge and explores its varied geological, archaeological, historical and ecological narratives through the medium of music. It features the sounds of Creswell's past and present ecologies, and choral music inspired by the experience of people who visit the Gorge in the present day.

Attendance is absolutely free; all you need to do is arrive at the Creswell Crags visitors centre at 17.30. You can find more information on the project, the performance and travel information for getting to Creswell on our website and Facebook event page.
