Ezio Crestaz

Ezio holds a degree (MSc) Dist. in Geological Sciences from Turin Un. in Italy, a MSc Dist in GISc from Manchester Metropolitan Un. and a MSc Dist in Computer Science from Hertfordshire Un. in UK, and he has being extensively trained in fields as water and environmental law and policy, hydroinformatics, environmental geostatistics and spatial analysis, geospatial applications, groundwater flow and transport modelling,

He is a cofounder of the Italian learning initiative in GISc www.GIscience.it and he has been teaching groundwater flow modelling, GISc and programming for long time, in both industry and Academia.

He has been working at different companies of ENI, the Italian Oil Company, since late 1986, as geophysicist for geothermal and mining prospecting and since 1991 as GI analyst and groundwater modeller focused on regional and local scale water management projects, for water supply and environmental remediation; among others, he has taken part in many large scale projects in Italy and abroad, including Ecuador, Colombia, Tunisia, Turkey, Tibet (China), Brazil, Dominican Republic and Kazakhstan, projects funded by Italian Ministries and International Organizations as UNDP and EU.

His research interests span through Spatial Databases, Spatial Decision Support Systems for environmental management, spatial analysis, advanced visualization and groundwater modelling, with specific focus on 3D density-dependent applications in coastal areas and water management integrated policies assessment.
