Teaching

Teaching in Birkbeck makes use of a wide range of techniques suited to varied needs and abilities of its mature students. The teaching environment differs from a conventional lecture, with students much more able to participate in the teaching process.

The GISc evening taught programmes are delivered using a combination of evening face-to-face sessions with delivery of materials over the Internet. All lecture notes are available through our virtual learning environment, as we know that the many demands on our students can make full attendance impossible.
