On behalf of the GISc Team, WELCOME TO THE 2011-12 PROGRAMME!! 

This information is for students who are enrolling on the evening taught MSc, PG Dip or PG Cert programmes. We will be adding information as we progress to the start of term.  Please use the navigation bar on the left to continue to prepare for the start of term.

Important Dates

Enrolment:  aim to complete your enrolment by 15 September.  Once you are enrolled you are eligible to purchase the required GIS software (see software link on the left menu). Please contact registry-enquiries@bbk.ac.uk (with your student number), or our Registry liaison, Brett at b.oshaughnessy@bbk.ac.uk if you have questions about your enrolment. 

Induction Session:  On Saturday 1 October 2011 we will hold an informal Induction session at 13.30 in the Malet Street Main Building , Room G15 (map).  Attendance is NOT required, but if you can attend, we will introduce you to members of the GISc Team, the programme structure and interface, eLibrary facilities, and hold a question and answer session.  Some of you may wish to follow on at the pub. Please email gis-admin@bbk.ac.uk if you plan to attend.

Access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)/Bloomsbury Learning Environment (BLE)/Blackboard:   We are aiming to provide you with access to the BLE from Friday 23 September.

Term Dates:  Term starts on Wednesday 5 October for FIRST YEAR students and Tuesday 4 October for SECOND YEAR students.  Learning materials will be available in the BLE at 13:00 on the Friday in advance of the teaching session (so Friday 30 September for the first week's materials and each Friday afterward at that time). The programme handbook will be available from the start of term.  In the handbook you will find a comprehensive schedule for the programme.
