The Department of Geography offers a vibrant and supportive research environment with staff working across the breadth of the discipline, from areas of critical contemporary theory and policy including Cities, International Development, Culture, Identity and Inequality, to empirical, policy-relevant research in Climate and Environmental Change and Human-Environment Relations and Governance on timescales from the Quaternary to Futures, and Geo-analytics and Modelling.

We encourage collaboration across disciplines and with non-academic partners, facilitated by regular seminars, discussion groups and events with both internal and visiting speakers, this year structured around some key current research themes (Capital & Social Justice; Futures; Human-Non-Human Encounters).
