Personal Tutors

Personal tutors are members of our academic staff, who will meet regularly with you throughout your course. All of our undergraduate and postgraduate students are assigned a personal tutor at the start of each academic year. Please check your My Birkbeck to find out your personal tutor.

How can your tutor help?

  • Your personal tutor is there to advise and support you with all sorts of problems. You'll be able to talk to your tutor about things like:
  • modules and your course of study
  • difficulties meeting deadlines
  • exam revision and study concerns
  • timetabling difficulties
  • problems outside of Birkbeck that may have an effect on your studies
  • Our personal tutor system means you'll always have an academic to turn to if you need help and advice.
