This seminar explores power and violence in the seventeenth-century household. Speakers analyse drama, prose and law as fathers asserted authority, mistress punished apprentices. Speakers: Sarah Birt (Birkbeck), Rachel Holmes (UCL), Laura Seymour (Birkbeck), Iman Sheeha (Brunel) and Emma Whipday (Newcastle).
