This exhibition gives you the opportunity to get hands on with nineteenth-century dress. Feel free to handle, undress and examine the dolls dressed in clothing from throughout the century. Costume maker Claudia Vogt, who is also doing an MA in Victorian Studies at Birkbeck College, will be there for the duration of the event demonstrating historical garment making techniques, and there will even be the opportunity for you to have a go yourself. This exhibition aims to highlight the painstaking skill and slow process of the nineteenth century dressmaker.
