Our Undergraduate Open Day gives you the chance to visit our campus, hear from staff and students about what it's like to study at Birkbeck, and find out why record numbers of undergraduate students are choosing to study at London's evening university.

Our Open Day is designed for people considering full-time undergraduate evening study at Birkbeck.

Programme for the day

The timings for each session will be confirmed closer to the event so you can plan your visit around the sessions you would like to attend.

Welcome talks

  • Our welcome talk will give you an introduction to Birkbeck, as well as covering fees and funding, student support services and accommodation options for Birkbeck students. You will also learn about our extensive Careers and Employability service, and Birkbeck Talent, our dedicated in-house recruitment service for students.

Student Life and Q&A

  • Hear from current students about what it's like to study in London, and how they make the most of studying in the evening at Birkbeck.

Campus and library tours

  • Our student ambassadors will show you around our main campus, and you will learn about the local history and beautiful surroundings of Bloomsbury. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and will include a visit to the Birkbeck library.

Subject sessions

  • Each department will hold a one-hour talk followed by a half hour drop-in session. If you have a subject clash, you can attend the talk for one subject and the drop-in session for another.
  • Please note: Specific subject sessions will not be available at this event for courses in Psychology, Geography, Environment and Development Studies, Social Sciences (with foundation year) or Earth and Planetary Sciences. Information for Psychology taster days will be available soon.

Welcome hub and refreshment hub

  • Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the afternoon in our Welcome Hub where our current student ambassadors, Team Birkbeck, and staff will be ready to answer any questions you have about studying at Birkbeck. You can also learn about our Students' Union, Careers and Employability service and Accommodation.

Student advice centre

  • You can visit the My Birkbeck Student Centre throughout the afternoon to ask advice on fees and funding, accommodation, application, academic skills support and wellbeing services.
