In this workshop, we will look at what we mean by reading speed and reading comprehension, identify key strategies for academic reading and technology to support these strategies. Multisensory strategies are well-reputed to enhance comprehension, understanding and recall, as are strategies that promote active reading.

Good notemaking also contributes to effective understanding and recall. Using Sensus Access, Microsoft Word Read Aloud, ClaroRead and ClaroCapture, we will look at how technology can support effective academic reading and streamline your notemaking whether in preparation for lectures and seminars, exams or as work towards assignment. Come to this workshop if you would like to learn more about strategies and tricks for effective academic reading.
