BBK Staff Lunch & Learn: Video Presenting with Impact

This lunchtime session will be useful for any Birkbeck staff member delivering online lectures and workshops as well as hosting and participating in video meetings.

The session will be delivered by a public speaking coach, trained broadcaster and professional member of the Professional Speaking Association (PSA).

Key topics will include:

  • How to engage your audience – from students to colleagues
  • Using your body language and voice to make impact on video
  • Video preparation tips
  • Practical advice to consider when delivering video content 

 

While virtual communication platforms are not a new entity, they have quickly become a huge part of our day to day lives. But how do you make as much impact on video as you would in person, coming across with confidence and authenticity?

    Jenna is Birkbeck’s Careers & Enterprise Manager and is also a trained Broadcaster. She formally worked in radio as a sports reporter, quickly developing a slightly concerning super-passion for public speaking.

    Over the past 5 years she has supported individuals as well as organisations as a public speaking coach, helping others to speak with confidence through her side training business, The IAM Hub. Jenna is a professional member of the Professional Speaking Association and regularly delivers talks, presentations and hosts events.

    Since COVID-19, she has developed sessions and materials to help others make more impact online when delivering live and pre-recorded video content.
