BiGS Event: Making Trouble: Life and Politics

When:
Venue: Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street

No booking required

VERSO & Birkbeck Gender & Sexuality (BiGS) invite you to celebrate the relaunch of Lynne Segal's autobiography, Making Trouble: Life and Politics.

The event will begin with a panel discussion from Catherine Rottenberg, Sara Farris, Jo Littler & Lynne Segal, speaking briefly on how feminists can resist the everyday cruelties of deepening poverty, brutal racism & exclusion, currently impacting so heavily on many women. The ever-deepening divisions between women means some of us are now occupying positions of power & authority, even as neoliberal rationality requires unswerving obeisance to market forces that entirely ignore the domestic worlds of care, nurturance and commitment to the lives of others.

Please then join us for drinks, and much resilient laughter & plotting. The talk will last approximately 90 minutes and will be followed by a drinks reception.
