Reading is an essential aspect of our lives, fundamentally important for carrying out even the most basic aspects of our lives in the modern world. Learning to read is however, much more complex and interesting than might at first appear. This short taster session is aimed at offering you a sense of what studying on the BA Psychology for Education or the Foundation Degree in Psychology for Education Professionals would be like. The session will introduce you to the cognitive, psychological, social and emotional aspects of learning to read and offer you some insights into how psychological understanding can help educators to support the development of this crucial skill.
