Bilingual Forum meeting hosted by the BBK Centre for Multilingual and Multicultural Research focuses on this project:

Colleagues Across Borders was set up in 2013 by Mothertongue multi-ethnic counselling service to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience with refugee frontline colleagues working in refugee camps and urban contexts. In 2017, an action research project provided support from pairs of professional interpreters and psychologists via Skype for Medical Justice Interpreters, for a three-month period. Data gathered from the project was analysed with the University of AlcalÃ, Spain. From this trial in the UK we wish to explore if this approach works with refugee interpreters working in the field. This Forum focuses on the findings from the research project.

Tom Rausch is a PhD student at Queen Mary, University of London. His research interests include: Risk Communication, Health Communication, English as a Lingua Franca, Discourse Analysis

Dr. Raquel LÃzaro-Gutiérrez is a PhD Assistant Professor at the University of Alcalà (Spain). She is a trainer at the Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages and Translation and the University Master's in Intercultural Communication and Public Service Interpreting and Translation as well as the Internship Program coordinator. She is also a member of the FITISPos research group (http://www3.uah.es/traduccion/es/fitispos/ ), which contributes to the professionalisation of PSIT, and is committed to collaborative work to solve communicative barriers.
