The Department of Organizational Psychology invites you to attend the annual Alec Rodger Memorial Lecture taking place on Thursday 5 July 2018.

Alec Rodger had a profound influence on British psychology. He was Reader in Psychology at Birkbeck College in the University of London from 1948 to 1960, and then Professor of Occupational Psychology until he retired in 1975 and was made Professor Emeritus.

We have the pleasure of announcing this year's lecture will be delivered by Professor Eva Demerouti, from Eindhoven University of Technology. Professor Demerouti will discuss her research on job crafting and give an insight into her own career path.

Professor Evangelia Demerouti is Full Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology at Eindhoven University of Technology. She has been a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa since 2015 and Chief Diversity Officer at Eindhoven University of Technology since 2017.

Her research focuses on the processes enabling performance, including the effects of work characteristics, individual job strategies (including job crafting and decision-making), occupational well-being, and work-life balance.

She has published over 200 national and international papers and book chapters on these topics. Her work has been published in high impact journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational behavior and Journal of Occupational Health Psychology.
