Current work

1. Monograph: Memory, Trauma and Nostalgia in the Museum Landscape
This book project will explore the connections between the changing social and cultural roles of the museum and the recent international memory boom. I am particularly interested in how media and technologies of memory explore their limits while also probing those of other medial forms through processes of imitation ('intermediality') and how the historical locatedness of the interacting media effects the creative and aesthetic dynamics of such media encounters.

2. Monograph: Cross-dressing in German Film Comedies

This co-authored monograph has just been published and was initiated by a German-Canadian research project between scholars from UBC (Vancouver), Queen’s University (Kingston) and the Universities of Karlsruhe and Mannheim (Germany).

3. Research Group: Gender and Memory
This is an ongoing project which brings together a group of scholars working on Gender and Memory. With my colleague Joanne Leal I organised a conference on this topic in September 2010 and we have regular workshops. If you are interested in collaborating and contributing to this research group, please get in touch.
