Research
I joined Birkbeck in 1997 after having worked for the Universität der Bundeswehr in Hamburg (University of the German Army), the Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn (a museum for contemporary German history) and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s mission in Bosnia. My research interests are in particular military and diplomatic aspects of 20th century German history and Franco-German relations.
I am writing a biography of the East German Stasi spy Guenter Guillaume to be published in spring 2013 with Chr. Links Verlag in Berlin
