Research interests

Bronwen Martin specialises in semiotic theory and its application to a wide range of discourses. She has also written on critical discourse analysis in the context of European media. Her teaching and research interests include contemporary European literature and philosophy as well as a more recent focus on postcolonial theory and on literatures beyond Europe.  She is currently completing a book on the Nobel Prize winner, J.M.G. Le Clézio.

She is Secretary of the Société Marguerite Duras and a member of its editorial board.
