Marshall J. Heap utilised Birkbeck's extensive links with industry:Birkbeck encourages students to collaborate with external organizations. I will work with the Ordnance Survey (a potential employer) in exploring a 'Generalisation of Hydrology' project for my final dissertation. Consequently, I feel that Birkbeck's approach is equally appropriate for students looking for a career in industry or academic research.
