Areas of research supervision

I’m currently supervising PhD students working on early modern drama and money; Elizabethan prose romance; pirates, the sea, and utopias; and abandoned projects. I welcome PhD applicants in any of the following areas: literature and drama of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries; material texts and the history of the book; autobiographical writing; cultures of manuscript and print; and the circulation and evolution of poetry between different readers and different forms of publication.
