Organisation
I have organised numerous seminars and conferences. Many of them have been hosted by BiGS and can be accessed via the BiGS website.
In June 2012, I will be organizing a 2-day international symposium on Sexology and Translation: Scientific and Cultural Encounters in the Modern World, 1860-1930 at Birkbeck. Funded by the Wellcome Trust, it explores how issues of translation shaped the development of modern sex research in Europe, Asia and the Middle Eas, and in so doing aims to enhance understanding of the relationships between science and culture, and between the ‘West’ and the ‘East’ during a period of major global transformations.
