Emilio Pierro
Visiting Research Fellow
MSci (Birmingham) PhD (London)
My Master's Thesis was in algebraic geometry, both classical and the French school. I began my PhD in October 2012 under Dr. Ben Fairbairn here at Birkbeck and completed it in October 2015. My research has been in the area of generation of finite simple group with applications toward Beauville surfaces and on the Möbius function of the small Ree groups with applications to enumeration of algebraic and topological objects and probabilistic generation.
Other Mathematical Interests (include...)
Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics, Dessins d'enfants.
Publications
"Probabilistic generation and enumeration of the small Ree groups" - in preparation.
"The Möbius function of the small Ree groups" - submitted.
"New Examples of Mixed Beauville Groups" (with B. Fairbairn) - (accepted - J. Group Theory).
