The University of London External System invites applications for its 2006 Teaching and Research Awards. The Awards, up to £50,000, support research and teaching development activities that will enhance knowledge about, and methods of implementing, any aspect of distance learning and teaching, including online, collaborative, blended and transnational education. In particular, the scheme is intended to help individuals and Colleges to develop teaching innovations or engage in teaching research that may not have a priority for funding within their own discipline or institution. The Awards are open to staff throughout the federal University, and are managed by the Centre for Distance Education, which provides a focus for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the University.

The closing date for proposals is 31 March 2006.
