All Malet Street rooms will be renumbered during September 2003.

Malet Street will still be referred to as two distinct areas: 'Main Building' and 'Extension Building'. The new rooms, currently under development, will be part of the 'Main Building'.

The floor levels in the Main Building only will be renumbered as follows:
Basement (no change in floor level name)
Ground (no change in floor level name)
1st (no change in floor level name)
2nd (previously Mezzanine Level in Library)
3rd (previously 2nd floor)
4th (previously 3rd floor)
5th (previously 4th floor)
6th (Previously 5th floor)
7th (new level)
The floor renumbering will enable the floor levels of the Main Building and the Extension Building to correspond. For example, the current third floor Main Building will become the fourth floor. Following the fourth floor corridor from the Main Building will lead directly to the fourth floor in the Extension Building.

The Room Bookings Office has previously confirmed the new rooms in the Main Building by using temporary room numbers, these are all prefixed N. Such rooms, and their new numbers, are detailed below in brackets.
