Birkbeck offers a suite of interdisciplinary postgraduate programmes
in e-business, which aim to introduce you to the subject in all
its diverse aspects. Initially focusing on the economic, technological
and managerial principles that underpin the ongoing revolution in
e-business, the courses are structured to enable you to specialise
in the e-business elements of economics, management or computer
science.
The programmes equip students with theories, principles and tools
for analysing and coping with issues of e-business. For example,
during your study, you will develop the capacity to analyse economic
trends in e-business, explore key issues in the implementation of
the technologies of e-business and assess business strategies.
The programmes are ideally suited
for people working, or who would like to work, in the broad area
of e-business, and who aspire to become managers, industrialists,
business and policy analysts or deal with information and communication
technology in relation to e-business. It is also suited to entrepreneurs
who want to understand the theoretical principles underpinning e-business
and software engineers who wish to specialise in e-business technologies.
You will have the opportunity to consider ways of maximising the
potential of e-business, both now and in the future.
The departments involved
are Management and Computer Science.
