Sorry, I Didn’t Quite Catch That: Selective Listening and Language Comprehension

Have you ever found it difficult to follow one conversation in a crowd? We are seeking volunteers for a study of selective listening in noisy environments. We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  • native British English speaker
  • right-handed
  • no history of neurological illness
  • no hearing aids or diagnosis of hearing impairment.

Participants aged 18-45 years can earn £5 in 30 minutes, listening to spoken words in noise.

Participants aged 45+ can earn £10 in one hour, listening to sentences in noise. Auditory perception and memory will also be tested.
