Ruth Solomons

Ruth Solomons is an artist and practice-based PhD student at Birkbeck College, University of London, born in London and based at Limehouse Studios, East London. Recent exhibitions include: InterRailing (Europe House, London, 2016) curated by Dr Paul Ryan; Drawn for Something Else (Rogue Artists, Manchester, 2016) curated by Dr Emily Strange; Digging Deeper (Clerkenwell Green, London, 2015) curated by Julian Page and Joanna Bryant Projects; and (detail) (Bangkok, London & Lincoln, 2014-5) curated by Andrew Bracey.

Ruth trained in Fine Art: Painting at Wimbledon School of Art, London (1998-2001); and her current research study is a practice-led enquiry into judgments about the way artists work. She is also a co-editor (and co-founder) of JAWS (the Journal of Arts Writing by Students), and is pro-active in encouraging current students and recent graduates to try and get their work published.

In addition to her academic studies and art practice, Ruth is also a bookkeeper, with experience of working in various Arts environments including art galleries, auction houses, and for individual artist clients.
