Kieren Pitts

Kieren teaches on the technical modules of Birkbeck's Postgraduate Certificate in Web Design and Development.

Kieren began developing web sites in 1995 and is an experienced developer - having worked in the education, charity and commercial sectors and also as a freelancer. Kieren is currently employed as a Senior Technical Researcher within the Research IT team at the University of Bristol. Kieren's primary role is as a developer on BOS - an online survey tool used by approximately 300 institutions and with more than 36,000 registered users. Kieren is also the technical lead on a number of academic research projects creating web applications and mobile apps to directly support the research.

Kieren's main technical interests are in web standards, accessibility, programming and application security. In his spare time he provides technical support to a charity (for which he is also a trustee), enjoys games development and runs his own one-man games studio.
