About our acting courses

The acting programme consists of part-time courses at Cert CE and Cert HE level, leading to University of London awards in Performance Studies in Acting. Students who complete the Cert CE to the required standard may apply to continue their studies on the Cert HE.

Auditions

Auditions are by invitation only, following application.

The purpose of the audition is to enable the course director to assess your current acting skills, and to give you an opportunity to discuss their aims in applying for a place and assess whether the course will meet their needs.

At the auditions you should be ready:

• to take part in short movement, voice and improvisation workshops (no preparation is necessary for this part of the audition, but you should attend the audition wearing rehearsal clothes – i.e. loose trousers and a plain top, eg. a T-shirt)
• to take part in a short interview
• for the Certificate in Higher Education only to present one classical speech from a published play (maximum length three minutes). The age of the character should reflect your age within approximately five years
