Mark Cromar

Mark Cromar followed a First from Oxford University with nearly a decade teaching there, ultimately as Lecturer at Oriel and Pembroke colleges, as well as at Oxford Brookes University.

After that he ran a jazz fusion band for several years. He has written professionally for over twenty-five years for various publications, including Quarto, The Independent, and Tempo. His own music has been performed at venues including the South Bank.

His particular interests include Brahms, 'Meaning' in Music, the aesthetics of early Minimalism, Godley & Creme, and the teaching of good old-fashioned Music Theory.
