Yoko Kagawa
Yoko Kagawa is a sessional lecturer in Japanese language at Birkbeck since the start of the College’s Japanese language courses in 2001. As member of the Birkbeck-Alpha team, she participated in developing the curricula for the Japanese courses and has been teaching all levels (beginners to advanced) of classes.
She also works, since 2001, at the Alpha Japanese Language Institute, London, teaching Japanese to different student target groups as well as classes in linguistics and teaching methodology on the Japanese teacher training course. She is currently the programme director of Alpha’s Japanese teacher training course in London.
Yoko Kagawa holds a JEES (Japan Educational Services and Exchange) Diploma in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language Competency and a BA in Business Administration from Tokushima University (Shikoku, Japan). She also obtained, in 2000, her Diploma in Classic French Pastries at Le Cordon Bleu in London.
