Conference: L'italiano e il cinema
L'italiano e il cinema
This conference on December 18th brings together a number of experts working in the field of Italian cinema to investigate the role of language in Italian film from a wide variety of perspectives.
The papers will explore, through the screening of illustrative film clips, issues such as the representation of spoken Italian and dialect, the language of Italian youth, the use and integration of languages other than Italian in film such as American English in the post-war period and the languages of migrant communities in modern Italy, and the effects of dubbing foreign language films into Italian. After each presentation, there will be opportunity for general discussion and questions.
Admission to the conference is free and all are welcome to attend and, although there is no registration, all those interested in attending are kindly asked to send Adam Ledgeway an email.
