Professor Philip Dewe

Philip Dewe’s research interests include work stress and coping, emotions and human resource accounting. He has written widely in the area of work stress and coping, with his research particularly covering the appraisal process and its role in the coping process. More recently, he has been using sequential tree analysis to explore the patterns of coping strategies to gain a better understanding of the way in which different coping strategies are used. This type of analysis has also been extended to exploring components of appraisal and their patterning in relation to the emotional consequences of stress.

He graduated with an MSc and PhD (in Organizational Psychology) from the London School of Economics.
