Neil Pyper is a Senior Lecturer in International Business at Birkbeck. Before joining Birkbeck in October 2020, he was an associate professor at Coventry University. Prior to embarking on an academic career in 2012, Neil spent eleven years as a political risk consultant, specialising in Latin America. He continues to write on the region for various consultancies and media outlets, such as Oxford Analytica, The Economist Group and The Conversation.
Neil is also a specialist in strategic foresight and has published on scenario analysis in various journals, including Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He is co-author of a textbook called Technology Strategy, which was published by Red Globe Press in 2019.
Neil teaches a range of international business modules at Birkbeck, and has significant experience of teaching strategy, strategic leadership and decision making at all levels.
