Remuneration Committee Terms of Reference

  • To review and determine annually the salary of the Master, taking into consideration available information on the remuneration of Vice Chancellors/Chief Executives in other comparable Higher Education Institutions.
  • To review annually applications made by Professors and Senior Professional Services staff for an additional award, taking into consideration available information on the remuneration of these groups of staff in other comparable Higher Education Institutions.
  • To review annually and revise as appropriate, taking into account pay increases and/or changes in duties, the level of salary allowance attached to the posts of Vice Master, Pro Vice Master, Assistant Dean, the Dean of the College, and such other posts as Governors may authorise from time to time.
  • To report annually to Governors on the salary award made to the Master; the number of successful and unsuccessful applications received from Professors and Senior Professional Services staff; the salary allowances for postholders; and the total cost of awards made.
  • To keep Finance & General Purposes Committee informed of the costs of awards made.
  • To consider and determine any severance payment proposed for a senior employee, and to report to Governors the outcome.
  • To carry out the above with due consideration for the public interest alongside the interests of the College, as required by the Committee of University Chairs' Higher Education Code of Governance.

Meetings of Panel A will be deemed quorate if the Chair and two Governors are in attendance.

Meetings of Panel B will be deemed quorate if the Chair, Master and two Governors are in attendance.
