Universities’ Engagement in Knowledge Exchange: International Evidence

Knowledge exchange interactions between universities and business and community stakeholders feature prominently in the current academic and policy discourse. This is premised on the view that the exploitation of multiple sources of civic, social and commercial value generated by universities is fundamental to foster economic and social development. Knowledge exchange interactions and their impacts are, however, difficult to measure and evaluate systematically.

This workshop aims to foster a timely discussion of different tools and approaches to measure various kinds of universities’ engagement in knowledge exchange, their advantages and challenges, in an international comparative perspective.
