Professor Ibeh speaks at the 2018 World Trade Symposium
The Pro Vice Master (International) discussed policy initiatives to support digitalisation.
Professor Kevin Ibeh, Professor of Marketing and International Business and Pro Vice Master (International), was among a select group of global visionaries and experts invited to speak at the 2018 World Trade Symposium which took place in London on Wednesday 5 – Thursday 6 December 2018.
The flagship event, now in its third year, focused on exploring ideas for advancing financial inclusion and trade through open markets, open finance and open architecture. Professor Ibeh’s talk and roundtable focused on policy and industry initiatives for addressing barriers to digitalisation, a sub-theme of his recent policy report to the OECD.
Co-organised by the Financial Times and Finastra, the Symposium featured prominent speakers, including former UK Foreign Secretary, Lord Hague, current and former CBI Director General, Carolyn Fairbairn and Lord Digby Jones respectively, Commonwealth Secretary General, Baroness Scotland, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), Arancha González, Economist and Author of ‘Doughnut Economics’, Kate Raworth, Founder of Socos Lab, Dr. Vivienne Ming, and top WTO and OECD officials. An audience of over 250 policy makers, diplomats, corporates, not for profits, banks and financial institutions, SMEs and fintech firms also participated at the two-day event.
