Ian Beardwell Prize Awarded
Pictured left to right: Prof Gail Kinman, Wilson Wong, and Dr Almuth McDowall Ian Beardwell Prize 2018 Thursday 19 January 2018, colleagues gathered to congratulate Dr Almuth McDowall as she was presented with the Ian Beardwell Prize 2018 by Wilson Wong, Head of Insight and Futures, CIPD. Professor Gail Kinman, University of Bedfordshire, also received the award for their collaborative research paper: The new nowhere land? A research and practice agenda for the 'always on' culture , published in the Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance this year. It received significant coverage in the national news, calling for UK employers to recognise that progress must be made to help staff switch off outside of work hours for the sake of their wellbeing. The prize-giving provided the opportunity to highlight the importance of academic researchers engaging with practitioners and reinforced the benefits of collaborative research.
