BEI sponsor Chamber of Commerce Events

The School of Business, Economics and Informatics are sponsoring a number of events with the Chamber of Commerce during the first half of 2014.  The events include breakfast meetings, lunchtime forums and one or two evening events.  The Chamber of Commerce choose interesting and prestigious venues including the Grosvenor Casino in Victoria and Bluebird Café in Chelsea to host these member gatherings.

Rose Devaney, Business Engagement Manager at the School said “the sponsorship enables us to increase the profile of the School and have a captive audience to promote various initiatives such as our mentoring programme and, later in the year, Business Week”.

The audience ranges from 60-100 people and surprisingly, the breakfast events are amongst the most popular – even though it means an early start with the first guests arriving around 7.30am!

Chamber members comprise a diverse range of businesses in Central London.  The only criteria for membership is that a company must have 10 staff or over but aside from this, we are afforded the opportunity to network with people from a range of sectors – usually there is representation from the Banks and the corporate law and accountancy firms, along with niche SMEs focusing on high-tech products or aspiring to fulfil the health and well-being needs of working Londoners.

Part of the sponsorship package enables us to have Birkbeck ambassadors networking with the delegates, finding out about their businesses and raising awareness of programmes and employer services in BEI.
