Biographical details
I got my first degree in Chemistry in 1994 and my PhD in Chemistry in 1999 at the University of the Balearic Islands. A week after my PhD thesis viva, I flew to the UK, where I have been working since.
I spent seven years as Postdoctoral Research Associate (two of them as Marie Curie Fellow) at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Sheffield, working within Professor Chris Hunter’s group. During this time I was involved in Supramolecular Chemistry and Chemical Biology studies, using model synthetic molecules to probe and understand Biomolecular interactions and to control of molecular self-assembly.
In October 2006 I was appointed Academic Fellow in Chemical Biology at Birkbeck, University of London. In October 2010 I was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences.
