Architecture Space and Society Centre, Birkbeck, University of London – Call for applicants for British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships

The ASSC welcomes contact from early career researchers interested in applying for a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship to be held at Birkbeck.

These prestigious three-year fellowships offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment.

We are interested in hearing from potential candidates working in the areas of architectural history, architectural humanities, architecture and philosophy, history of landscape, history of interiors, spatial dimensions of archaeology, and related areas.  Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the Fellowships. (They must be within three years of the award of a doctorate, unless there are extentuating circumstances and be UK/EU citizens, or have completed their PhD at a UK institution, or able to demonstrate strong prior association with UK academic community.)

Please look in the first instance at our list of members to identify an appropriate mentor, and make contact directly with him/her. Candidates should work with their mentor to prepare the short pro-forma application and this should be returned to rescomp@bbk.ac.uk by 22 June 2017.

There will be an internal college selection procedure to choose candidates to put forward for the fellowships. Applications will be considered by the Birkbeck Research Strategy Group and potential candidates will be informed of the outcome on 28 July 2017.

Full details of this process, and the pro-forma application, can be accessed at http://www.bbk.ac.uk/staff-information/early-career-researchers
