(Un)Interrupted Sounds: Samuel Beckett's Patients and the Cacophonous Clinical Encounter.

My research investigates representations of language disorder and voice hearing in the works of Samuel Beckett. Working in the field of Medical Humanities I look to uncover how Beckett’s work both offers answers to, and challenges, the chaotic clinical encounter. Posing an alternative view of impairment, I use Beckett's works to call traditional methodologies and discourses in clinical practice into question.
