Louise Seddon (German)

Literary engagements with the evolution of German Identity as portrayed in German literature from the post World War II until the present day.

The central question I would like to examine is how the complex issue of the changing nature of German identity in the seventy years since the end of the Second World War has been explored in literary texts.  Particularly, I am interested in how this issue is engaged with through the representation of the family, and relationships across the generational divide within it, at different moments in the post war period.
